I'm surprised (or am I?) that this thread hasn't been jumped on sooner.

The constraint of working within a competition brief can actually be quite liberating (as I'm finding as I create a bunch of nonsense here.)

It works on my Firefox 2.0.0.6 but you'll probably need the latest Flash to watch it. Here is the blurb:

Depending on the idea (and genre) of the film, I might be able to do the score.

My next big project starts in a few months which means I may have time to do this prior to that. It also means I may be coming to the UK to meet up with the that client, and could possibly also meet up with whoever is running the show.

Right. First off we need ideas. JB, as a writer, may I please ask you to come up with a treatment for a three-minute oeuvre. Due to the short amount of time I recommend to leave writing to the designated writer and not have a week-long discussion about the proper script.

Please note that I insist on outsiders brought into this shoot (actors, crew) to get paid. I would be grateful to get an idea from everyone how much they would be willing to contribute financially. If no-one wants to pay for creating this short (I don't mind spending a few quid) then I would be grateful if you could find some friends who would do it for a meal and a beer. This also means a skeleton cast and crew and no expensive locations (it's a bit difficult to shoot with a hunking DigiBeta without incurring interest from Joe Public).

Lastly please advise of (weekend) dates in September that you CANNOT do so we can determine the date when to roll.

Most important: should we win the prize then everyone from this thread who worked on the creation of the finished film gets an equal share down to the last pence. Any leftover pennies which are left as they cannot be equally distributed will be pocketed by me as the producer. This means that I will probably make the enormous extra profit of 7p over the rest of the group...

September 1,2 and 29,30 don't look too good for me (although I could prolly swing 29,30 if absolutely needed).

logistically can I ask (okay, wish for) two things:

1. all locations very near a tube station.

and/or

2. all locations with parking and not inside the congestion zone.

if need be I can edit with FCP on a MacBook but I also suck quite badly at VFX (SoundFX not so bad though)

when I get a chance I'll download and read the brief and perhaps throw some stuff out there to grease up JB's mind (should he need it).

To be honest I'm not interested in paying to participate. So count that in when figuring out who does the score - I understand completely if you get someone who is.

Regarding ideas: The first thing that popped into my mind was 'telekinisis'.
